The why behhind this Course
This chakra course is meant to give you the tools and understanding not only to understand and work with your chakra system, but to use that information to help heal your relationship with your body and food.
I used yogic philosophy to work with my own subtle body and chakra system as part of my recovery from a long battle with eating disorders and disordered eating. Yes, I did say eating disorders as I struggled across the spectrum and it took me a long time, but I made it to the other side. Not everyone can and I also believed that I was one of those people for many years. So don’t sell yourself short.
My mission is to help others that might feel stuck in their journey to heal their relationship with their body and food through integrating ancient wisdom with modern day science.

Course Overview
This overview module will teach your about the history of the chakra system and provide you with a general overview of each chakra. We will discuss the liberating and manifesting currents that allow us liberation from our patterning and ego selves and manifestation of goals and changes we seek. We will explore concepts such as the gunas and understand how chakras can be balanced, out of balanced, excess, deficient or both! Learn what the subtle body is and how you can focus your attention here when the mind and physical body feels too hard to work with. This module will also explain how to maximize your time with this course by explaining the self-assessments, workbooks and practices included.

This module we will learn about our first chakra, the root chakra. This is our chakra that governs our sense of safety, stability and connection with the physical world and our physical bodies. We discuss issues around trust, grounding, body image, boundaries and fear in respect to your relationship with your body and food. In this module and for each chakra to follow, you will learn how to identify if your root chakra is excessive, deficient or both and how to balance it based on your individual needs. We will discuss various grounding techniques, including some that do not rely on connecting to your body when that doesn’t feel safe. You’ll understand the roles that the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system play in our lives. We will also discuss 15 nutrients that can aid in supporting the root chakra.

This module we will learn about our second chakra, the sacral chakra. This is our chakra that brings us into the world of dualities. It governs our ability to change and to be fluid in our life. We will discuss issues that arise around our emotions, sexuality, pleasure, desire, taste preferences, boundaries and guilt. We will also learn about our shadow selves. Learn how to identify if your sacral chakra is excessive, deficient or both and how to balance it based on your individual needs. We will discuss what food rules are, how to identify them and how to challenge them nutrition to support the sacral chakra.

This module we will learn about the third chakra, the solar plexus chakra. This chakra is our power center. It allows us to feel empowered and confident. We will discuss issues that arise around will, self-esteem, power, shame and letting your light shine. We will delve into understanding the physiological and psychological impacts that dieting can have and learn why dieting does not work for the majority of people long term. You’ll learn the neurobiology of body image and why it is so hard to work on. We’ll explore digestion in the body as well as the digestion of all sensory inputs. You’ll understand therapeutic treatments such as CBT, DBT, ACT and RO-DBT. We will also discuss nutrition to best support this chakra.

This module we will learn about our fourth chakra, our heart chakra. We will discuss topics such as compassion, balance, love, relationship and self-acceptance. As this chakra is about acceptance, we will go deeper into aspects of body image work to not only help you begin to understand the narrative around your body, but will also includes skills and handouts and resources to help facilitate that work. We will discuss compassion and the invaluable role it can play in healing your relationship with your body and food. Gain insight into your relationships with others and yourself through the lens of your heart chakra.

This module we will learn about our fifth chakra, our throat chakra. We will discuss topics such as communicating your needs, self-expression, listening to your internal cues, speaking your truth, finding your voice and creativity. We will also explore how to begin to separate out the disordered voice from your authentic voice as this can be a crucial component in the healing process. We’ll discuss Health At Every Size® and explore the deeper roots of diet culture. Learn about nutrition and aspects of the eating process that support a balanced throat chakra. Learn how to identify if your throat chakra is excessive, deficient or both and how to balance it based on your individual needs.

This module we will learn about our sixth chakra, our third eye chakra. We will discuss topics such as intuition, imagination, visualization, seeing with clarity and observing patterns. Our patterns keep us stuck and it is with the third eye that we can begin to see those patterns with clarity so we can then begin to change them. Learn how to identify if your third eye chakra is excessive, deficient or both and how to balance it based on your individual needs. We will learn exercises to to help with dream recall, memory enhancement and developing your intuition. We will also learn about the 10 principles of intuitive eating.

This module we will learn about our seventh chakra, our crown chakra. We will discuss topics such as belief systems, spirituality, thoughts and understanding. Learn how to identify if your crown chakra is excessive, deficient or both and how to balance it based on your individual needs. We will go even deeper with working with our thoughts, including beginning to notice the observer of those thoughts. so you can slowly begin to stop identifying with them. We’ll discuss various forms of meditation and take a deep dive into the practice of Yoga Nidra and how it can be a tool to help break free from patterns and behaviors that no longer serve you.

This module is where we put it all together! The key to working with your chakra system is understanding your entire system so you can know how best to approach the healing process. We will go even deeper into understanding the liberating and manifesting current and how to identify what chakras might be blocking either path. We’ll discuss the energies of Shiva, Shakti and Kundalini and the interconnection with the chakras. You’ll learn how to interpret your chakra system and best practices for working with it based on your unique chakra system. We will talk about using this information to better understand the people in your life and also use the chakras to work on your current relationships. We will also explore how the chakras play a role in the people we invite into our lives.

Focusing on just the body and mind leaves out the crucial component of the subtle body, which directly informs our physical body and mind.
