I was shocked, though not surprised, when I saw that the Pride flag was removed from Stonewall. I felt angry, and then quickly realized that it doesn’t need a flag.
Stonewall is the flag. It is pride. It is allyship.
I also know this move feels quite ominous for what might be next for the LGBTQIA2S+ community, as well as allies and loved ones. And that friends is what gives me hope. I don’t think they realize how many people this impacts.
The Power of Perspective
Though it is ominous, I want to offer some alternative perspectives. Not to replace or override or bypass anything you might be feeling right now, but to offer alternative perspectives to empower you through this.
And isn’t coming out all about empowerment?
I also want to acknowledge it isn’t safe for many to come out in the world today. And that is the point of this piece. To create a world where not only is it safe to come out, but there is no need to come out.
Imagine a society where you didn’t have to hide or come out. You were free to be who you are and everyone accepted it.
Fun fact, there have been societies throughout history where people didn’t “come out” the way we do now. Granted they had their own issues (looking at you ancient Rome), but it is possible.
On that note, I want to answer a question that is probably on your mind.
Yes, I identify as Queer.
While I don’t feel the need to say this, I also know the society we live in.
Now back to our regularly scheduled program!
Energetic Reading
After reading about the removal of the Pride flag at Stonewall, I felt into it energetically. To be honest, it just happened.
I felt and saw a small group of “mean girls” or bullies brainstorming ways to poke the bear… and twinks, daddies, femmes, etc. Mmmhmm, pun clearly intended.
It felt like they were scrambling. Recognizing they are quickly losing power and support, they devised a plan to try to get their supporters back in their good graces.
The image below came into my mind’s eye and I giggled. And in that moment, I felt my energy shift and so wanted to share it.

But seriously, I don’t think they realize how many people this impacts. Coupled with everything that is occurring – I think it will be seen for what it is. A predictable move that speaks to their own fear of losing power. Aaaaand, Obama should start charging rent at this point. (For context, Obama declared Stonewall a national monument in 2016.)
Unfortunately, I also know that this could signify something far more devastating for so many people because of this fear of losing power.
The Path to True Freedom
So I offer this perspective:
What if this leads us back to a society where we don’t have to “come out”.
There is no need to hide who you are.
Where it’s safe to love and be with — or not be with — whomever you please.
You never question if you’re gay enough or queer enough.
You don’t exert countless time and energy wondering, “what you are” or what box you fit into.
People don’t get cancelled if they “switch teams”.
We don’t identify one another by gender.
Intersex people are praised for their physiological representation of the union of masculine and feminine.
We don’t judge others for who they are or where they were born.
We are each unique, yet it doesn’t define us.
We realize there is no need for borders.
We don’t require flags or passports or border patrol.
There are no land grabs or wars.
What if this all leads to a society that Jesus spoke of. Where we love and accept one another just simply for being.
What if there was reverence and unconditional love not just for humans, but everything: the animals, the plants, the water, the air, the land.
What if all of this hate paves the way for us to finally align to unity consciousness.
Not a hive mind like in Pluribus, but a unity consciousness that celebrates the unique expression of all as aspects of the All.
Like an infinite jigsaw puzzle of Truth where every single piece is seen and connected.

United Empowerment
I truly have hope for our future because I see people of all walks of life coming together all over the world in support of one another.
Here’s something to snack on: the funny thing about the powerful elite is that there aren’t very many of them.
It’s time for the maths to start mathing. Rather than the 1%, here’s to the 99% being the majority stakeholder in the future of humanity.
Let’s f*cking do this!
Until next time friends, stay curious!
