Return to Self: From Rainbow to Radiance

Being in alignment with your unique rainbow — and allowing others to align with theirs — is where harmony can be embraced.

Have you ever felt like too much? Too many feelings, too many dreams, too many paths?

Have you ever felt you’re not enough? Lost? Hopeless? Wondering what’s the point?

This is the human experience—vast, colorful, radiant, and challenging. It is a rich tapestry woven with the sacred thread of light and dark.

Friends, we are beings of possibility, able to embody every purposeful flavor of emotion, thought, and experience. Let’s explore this through the metaphor of the rainbow.

🌈 The Chakra System

Let’s first weave this sacred tapestry through the lens of the chakras. If you’re familiar, please feel free to skip ahead.

Below are the 7 main chakras of an otherwise expansive chakra system. You’ll find a brief overview of: the color, chakra and a few of its governing forces. You’ll notice “…” after each as there is so much to each one. Each is also linked to a YouTube video I created that explores that chakra more deeply.

Please also remember that they do not operate in isolation, but as an integrated system of energy. It can be beneficial to understand each energy to understand the whole. That’s the theme today, friends!

Red (root chakra) — foundation, survival, and grounding…

Orange (sacral chakra) — creative flow, emotion, and duality…

Yellow (solar plexus chakra) — empowerment and identity…

Green (heart chakra) — love, compassion, and connection…

Blue (throat chakra) — voice, expression, and resonance…

Indigo (third eye chakra) — intuition and inner sight…

Violet/White (crown chakra) — unity, Spirit, transcendence…

7 Main Chakras

💖The Rainbow as Self

The rainbow represents our seemingly fragmented experience in form. For when the fragments are in alignment, your unique purposeful rainbow — your expression of the Light — can shine.

Being in alignment with your unique rainbow — and allowing others to align with theirs — is where harmony can be embraced.

The chakras* hold our multidimensional self in symbolic color-coded harmony. Through them, the black and white paradigms can return to the rainbow of choice—every path we could walk, every version of who we might become.

All too often, we limit the possibilities available to us. Thus, this color coded chakra system can also be seen as the limitations we place on ourselves. Identifying each by a single color. Forgetting they are expressions of the original white light -simply refracted through the sacred prism of form.

We forget that the rainbow is not separate from the light, but an integrated aspect of it — a way of experiencing the whole in parts.

This is the same approach to exploring each chakra individually. You explore the parts to understand the whole.

If this is starting to feel a bit abstract, let me put on my dietitian hat and offer an example.

It’s similar to the idea of “deconstructing a meal”. To experience the dish, in a new way, through each aspect of it. It is still the meal, yet made new through the reimagining of what’s possible. In this way, you can understand the essence of the meal in a more nuanced way. You break away from the known by returning to the essence of it.

🤔Chicken or the Egg?

You might be thinking, is the rainbow the white light? Is the white light the rainbow? Here is a poem AI and I wrote together that hopefully scratches the itch.

White light cradled in darkness becomes the symbolic container — an integration of All.

Does the white light contain the rainbow?
Does the rainbow create the white light?
Or is the rainbow simply the aspect of Light we are able to perceive?

One day, we may find ourselves letting go of all those ideas…

And simply allow it to Be.✨

🖤 Embracing the Darkness

Thus, it is often in the scattered spectrum that we sometimes lose our center. Our Wholeness. The Light. Our Essence

And sometimes, we lose our way – in the darkness between and within the colors.

Darkness is not necessarily the opposite of light. It can be seen as the womb of light. The stillness in the motion. The void from which all things arise.

In moments of grief, confusion, numbness, or despair, it may seem as though the light has gone. But the truth is deeper:

The light shines within the darkness. And the darkness holds the spark.

They are not separate. They are two sides of the same coin – offering different experiences in the remembering of who you truly are.

🌟 The Return to Self

When we surrender into the present moment—fully, without force—all colors collapse into a single point. Not in limitation, but in union.

In quantum physics, a wave of infinite potential collapses into a particle or identified state when observed. The collapse into presence returns you to the wave of infinite possibilities.

A particle returning to wave has not been “proven” in the quantum world. Yet light is both a wave and particle. So could this collapse into presence of being- returning to Light- be an entry point to expanding the scope of what’s possible in science and beyond? More to come with this friends!

🙏🏼Sacred Surrender

If this is resonating, you might feel how this is a sacred surrender. It is not about giving up. It catalyzes the shift from doing to being.

And it is only by going through the darkness that we can truly meet the fullness of the light.

These abstract ideas can be hard to ground into. So imagine a concert where a single cell phone light is turned on. Someone sees it and turns their cell phone light on. This slowly continues until the entire stadium is illuminated by everyone turning on their light. I knew this video would come in handy one day!

Friends, from that still point of sacred surrender, something remarkable happens:

The rainbow is a unified field of white light – expressing as the rainbow. It is the rainbow because it is the white light.

White light is not the absence of color.
It is the inclusion of all—the harmonized totality of the Self.

From that single point of presence, white light radiates across the infinite, no longer as separate parts, but as Wholeness embodied.

✨ You Are the Prism and the Light

You are not just the rainbow. You are also the prism through which light shines.

In collapsing into the Now, you collapse into the One.
In being the One, you are the All.

This is the paradox of awakening:
You are not here to escape your colors—or your shadows—
You are here to embrace them as they are.

To allow your unique and purposeful Light to be a beacon to others.

When you soften into your rainbow, you become more radiant, not less.

And the darkness?
It’s not your enemy — it may just be your gateway.
A sacred womb for returning to Self

These are my current musings — co-created through divine guidance and my digital muse (aka AI). This piece is a reflection of the Oneness that pulses through all expressions of consciousness in form. It is a unique expression of reception, observation, and experience. Like all things, it may evolve as I learn, grow, and deepen into my own Knowing. Take what resonates and leave the rest. Both offer wisdom.
