11 Sacral Chakra Affirmations For Your Healing Journey

Sacral chakra affirmations can be a powerful way to work on balancing your sacral chakra. Affirmations can help to foster support around shifting one’s mindset. Our mind, thoughts, perceptions and beliefs in this world shape our unique reality. It’s important to remember that beliefs also don’t manifest out of the blue. It takes time for them to integrate and become an embodied truth. It also takes time for false beliefs to be recognized and unlearned. So approach this work with patience and grace for yourself.

This is all to say that sacral chakra affirmations are not a quick fix. While you might be bummed about that, I invite you to consider this reframe. Nothing worthwhile that will stand the test of time comes from a “quick fix”. We certainly know this about dieting, as no long term studies have shown diets to be an effective long term tool in weight loss. While trying to lose weight might feel like what you need to accept your body; it is a quick fix that simply perpetuates the belief, consciously or subconsciously, that you are not enough. Sadly, it sends most people  into years or decades of weight cycling, which research does show can compromise one’s health. And that is if you are lucky enough to not develop an eating disorder, as dieting greatly increases the risk of developing one.

What is affirmations don’t work for you

For many, affirmations can feel forced or fake. I find that for those people, affirmations aren’t the best approach at that particular time and/or the affirmations being used don’t feel authentic to their journey. I say this because while I will be offering sacral chakra affirmations in this post, they are just that, an offering. If none of them resonate for you, I invite you to explore why they don’t resonate and what phrasing would resonate for you on your journey, at this moment. And lastly, remember that you always have the option to fake it til you make it/become it!

We are ever evolving and changing begins in this world. As such, it is crucial to continuously check in with oneself to see what works and what doesn’t. Just because a tool or skill doesn’t work one day, it doesn’t mean it will never work for you. Often times our go to tools and skills don’t work as they once did. Having a tool box of skills to rely on will serve you well on your journey. This flexible mindset is akin to a balanced second chakra. Working towards this flexible mindset can in return support the health of your sacral chakra.

Sacral Chakra

These sacral chakra affirmations are meant to help develop and balance the second chakra or svadhisthana chakra. Our second chakra is the second main chakra in our chakra system. While there are 114 chakra in or around the physical body, we generally focus on the 7 main chakras. You can learn more about in my post, the chakra system. You can also learn more in this post about the second chakra and my courses Chakras 101 and Getting Unstuck.

Sacral Chakra

Our second chakra governs many aspects of self. It governs our sexuality, emotions, our ability to be flexible, fluid and adapt to change. It governs our relationship to pleasure, desires, nurturance and this is where our needs stem from. This is also where our system enters into the world of dualities, so this is one of the chakras where people can get stuck in binary and all or nothing thinking. Many people with eating disorders, disordered eating and addictions tend to have issues with this chakra. If you struggle with any of the aspects it governs, it’s likely this chakra needs some TLC.  You can learn more in this blog post about the second chakra and how it impacts our taste preferences

Sacral Chakra Affirmations

Now that you have a deeper understanding of the svadhisthana chakra, let’s explore 11 affirmations that you can use to help work towards finding balance.

I go with the flow.

I embrace my sexual energy.

I am one with my emotions.

I am comfortable with change.

I honor my need for pleasure.

I eat food guilt free.

My desires are valid.

I am open to new ideas and concepts.

I honor my taste preferences.

I feel with ease.

I know my needs.

How to use sacral chakra affirmations

To utilize these affirmations, find a way to incorporate it into your daily life. Here are just some ideas, but I encourage you to use your imagination and find a way that works for YOU! You can use this recorded meditation.

– You can use this recorded meditation.

– Some people like to have it written in their mirror to remind themselves to say it.

– Some use it throughout the day, especially when thoughts arise that reinforce the current imbalances of your second chakra.

– You can use it as part of your meditation practice by bringing your awareness to your sacrum (between your naval and pelvic floor) and repeating your affirmation(s). You can also include crystals and or/a hand mudra, which we learn about in Getting Untuck.

– Setting a reminder can be a great way to begin to incorporate them into your daily life, especially if you have ADHD!

– Find regular moments during your day to incorporate them: at traffic lights, commercial breaks, going to the bathroom, showering, in bed, when you get a text, etc.

Remember that these are simply an offering. The foundation of this work is self-study or svadhyaya. So check in with yourself and see what might work for you in this moment in time and what doesn’t. Use this offering as a spring board to deepen your understanding of your second chakra, your chakra system as a whole and ultimately your Self.
