The truth bomb I’m about to drop is all about ascension symptoms. As you read, tune into your inner knowing to unearth your personal truth regarding this conversation.
What Are Ascension Symptoms
So what are ascension symptoms?
They are are physical, emotional and mental experiences one has when ascending in consciousness. They are often called “symptoms” because they are not always pleasant by traditional standards. These can include, but are not limited to: fatigue, headaches, aches and pains, sleeplessness and mood swings.
Starting to sound a wee bit like a pharmaceutical ad, eh?
And that is one aspect of this piece. To explore how the term, “ascension symptoms”, might be holding you back.
Benefits of the the Phrase: Ascension Symptoms
Before we dive into that persepctive, let’s explore some of the beneficial aspects of this term.
Reframing Illness
What I appreciate about the term, “ascension symptoms”, is that it can reframe what we perceive to be negative experiences with the body. We see it not through the lens of illness, but through alignment and growth.
Think of it as adult growing pains.
You acknowledge it sucks.
And…
You understand why its happening and perceive that to be worth it.
Cultivating this mindset can be helpful when translated to any actual illness you experience. It immediately shifts you from disempowerment to empowerment.
From victim to co-creator.

Healthcare Revolution
This can also allow one to lean into the idea that energy informs our physical and mental experiences.
Many believe some ailments are “planned” at the soul level, yet many are a direct result of energetic misalignments.
I know that might sound woowoo, so let’s ground it.
It’s well documented how chronic stress can negatively impact one’s health. Chronic stress means the nervous system is out of balance. Is that not an energetic misalignment?
If we take this idea and apply it to the collective, this perspective could revolutionize our healthcare systems.
Also remembering, this is an ancient concept and is already being utilized in widely accepted modalities like acupuncture and ayurveda.
Befriending the Body
It can also support people in caring for their body when it’s not feeling optimal.
Rather than resisting and “pushing” through it, you might honor the experience. Thus, supporting the body in ways you might not have if you saw it through the lens of illness.
This relationship can also support one in seeing ailments as the body’s notification system. Communicating something important to you.
For example, I sprained my ankle while nomadic and it would not heal. After a couple months and multiple other injuries with my ankles and feet, I finally dropped in. I realized my body was asking me to ground.
As I started to lay the groundwork to settle down, the ankle healed and a home magically found while staying at an Airbnb. I go more in depth with this idea that the body communicates to us in this post about an eczema flair up that actually occured during the home buying process.
Reality Check
These uncomfortable experiences also help us realize that as you deepen and expand in consciousness, it’s not always sunshine and rainbows.
Remember that you often have to see the limiting beliefs clearly before you can transcend them. This can include a reckoning with the choices you made while they were your primary operating system.
And….
This process can help us to shift out of rigid binary beliefs of good and bad and see everything as purposeful. Eventually, even the challenging moments are held with the same sense of gratitude as the sunshine and rainbow moments.
Fact or Perception
Friends, my intention is to present various levels of awareness around this topic so you can tap into your truth. We’ve explored some ways in which using “symptoms” can be beneficial. Now I want to call to your attention aspects of this phrase that makes me curious enough to take pause.
Because I’ve been thinking a lot lately how this phrase can actually narrow and limit one’s experience.
Let me explain.
We often adopt spiritual terms in the same way we adopt conditioning from society. Sometimes, we say words like ascension, multidimensionality and consciousness without exploring it for ourselves. I know that has been true for me.
Through my curiosity, I’ve noticed that saying ascension symptoms, in some circles, is as matter of fact as the sky is blue.
And yes, we see the sky as being blue.
Yet, it isn’t blue all day every day.

And it only appears blue due to its:
- Shorter waves scattering more so than other colors in the visible light spectrum
- The higer volume of blue light waves being emitted by the sun.
- Our eyes are physiologically adept to perceive the color blue.
And remember, we see it as blue, but that isn’t true for every species on this planet.
Just like the sky being perceived as blue…
What lies deeper in this concept of ascension symptoms is what I want to discuss.
What’s True for You?
I don’t want to push my thoughts and beliefs onto you. So before I dive in, take a moment and get curious.
When you hear the word “symptoms”, what do you think? Feel? Believe?
For me, what comes up are the ideas of: illness, disease and being unwell.
If that resonates for you too, let’s dive deeper into this.
However, if something else is arising for you, please explore that before continuing on.
Limitations with Ascensions Symptoms
The term ascension symptoms is very appropriate for the illness like experiences one might have.
And…
It can also consciously or unconsciously influence the experience. Here are three reasons to be mindful of when using this phrase.
It can associate it with sickness
Whether or not you realize it, there may be a part of you that blocks the ascension process due to associating it with sickness. This can also draw upon other lives where maybe you were harmed in some way for ascending or being different in consciousness than the community.
I wonder about the impact when this phrase is said in an unconscious manner. By that, I mean using it without exploring the meaning or essence of it for yourself.
Does it then connect to the unconscious realm of limiting thoughts, beliefs, and other energies that inform our choices without our conscious awareness?
For example, could that then lead to an actual illness because the unconscious energy being tapped into is not, “I am ascending”, but rather, “I am sick”.
I’m not saying its a truth, just a curiosity.
It can mask actual sickness
While it’s plausible it could manifest in sickness, it’s certainly logical to see that it could neglect actual illness.

For example, there is a documentary called Mother of God. She was not eating, drinking heavily and slowly poisoning herself by ingesting colloidal silver. She even physically turned blue, yet referred to it all as ascension symptoms.
I do believe that every experience is purposeful in some way, whether or not we consciously are aware of it. And perceiving an actual illness as an ascension symptom and not seeking medical support is a choice. It’s not for anyone to judge.
Sitting with this idea, I invite you to get curious if that is a part of your experience. If so, what might it be revealing to you?
Personally, I have been experiencing extreme exhaustion. My labs were slightly off and so while I do think its energetic in nature, I am also addressing it at the physical level with iron supplementation. Holding both the energetic and physical in simultaneity can be a powerful practice in the process of ascension.
It can prevent you from seeing the other experiences.
Many of us get rooted in the unpleasant experiences we have and it can be hard to see the rainbow after the storm. If one is so focused on the symptoms, it becomes their main focus of awareness.
One of my mentors would always say, “Where our awareness goes, our energy flows”.
Thus, it could prolong the symptoms and overshadow the other aspects of the process.
It can also shift your focus so deeply into seeing ascension as only being unpleasant that you miss those beautiful subtle moments, even in the unpleasant experiences.
Moving Beyond Ascension Symptoms
Friends, these are just a few things to consider They may or may not resonate and lean into that awarenesss. Both provide valuable information for you on your unique journey,
You might be wondering what to call it if the old terminology no longer serves you
Well, you don’t have to call it anything!
You don’t even have to call it ascension. I find ascension comes with its own “stuff” attached to it these days.
It can also uphold attachments to outcomes. So notice for yourself if that is beneficial or not in your journey at the moment.
I’ve been sitting with, “ascension experiences”.
Or just experiences. Because at the end of the day, it it my belief that we are here to experience.
Being so focused on ascending may narrow your focus that you miss the experiences that are intended to support you in your ascension.
Because friends, like most experiences….it isn’t necessarily what you think.
That’s why I always say to stay curious. It widens the aperture of awareness. And I find, it is much harder to judge when sitting in compassionate curiosity.
With that in mind, until next time friends, stay curious!
